Brief

As one of the biggest supermarkets in Indonesia, Hypermart would like to improve their customer loyalty program by developing a mobile application called HI-Card. The apps is designed to ease the customers' buyer journey via online and to share rewards for the loyal customers.

The development of HI-Card unfolds in two strategically structured phases. The first phase centers on providing customers with an easy and seamless onboarding process, and the second phase focuses on creating a robust rewards system that recognizes and celebrates customer loyalty.

Challenge

Hypermart had taken proactive steps by introducing a mobile application encompassing both transactional and rewards program functionalities. Despite its initial functionality, the app's user interface had become outdated, failing to keep pace with the evolving expectations of modern consumers. Furthermore, the app's features no longer adequately catered to the dynamic and diverse needs of their ever-evolving customer base.


In response to that, Hypermart put on board on a strategic initiative to revamp their mobile application. This decision was driven by a deep-rooted commitment to excellence and a desire to align with the rapidly changing preferences of their tech-savvy clientele. The goal is to reimagine the mobile app as a cutting-edge, user-centric platform that not only facilitated seamless transactions but also elevated the overall shopping experience.

Our journey toward app enhancement began with a comprehensive research phase to gain valuable insights into the intricacies of the existing application. Armed with this knowledge, we adopted a design thinking approach, immersing ourselves in the shoes of our customers to gain a deep understanding of their perspectives, desires, and challenges. To then develop an updated version of the Hypermart mobile app suited to customer needs.
